These requirements indicate the environment(s) for which HawkSoft has been developed and tested. Meeting these requirements will ensure proper performance. If you choose to run HawkSoft in an environment that does not meet these requirements, we may be limited in the support we can provide.

HawkSoft Local Install

WORKSTATION REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimum CPU: 1.6GHz
  • Minimum Memory: 2 GB (32-bit) / 4 GB (64-bit)
  • Workstation Operating Systems:

    • Windows 7® Pro or Ultimate with Service Pack 1
    • Windows 8.1® Pro or Enterprise SP1
    • Windows 10® Pro
  • Internet Explorer® 11.0 or higher
  • .NET Framework 4.6.1
  • MFC 14.13
  • Minimum Monitor Resolution: 1024x768
  • Internet Access required on all workstations
  • DVD Writer: Required on at least one workstation or the server unless using online backup service.* (Online backups should have iterated versions and be able to restore individual files from a history of backups)

The following are NOT supported

  • Any operating system not expressly listed above, including: Windows RT, Windows 10S, or any Home Edition of a Windows OS

NETWORK REQUIREMENTS

  • HawkSoft CMS requires a configured peer to peer or domain based (recommended) network (required for local installations only)
  • One computer configured to act as the file server running one of the following operating systems:

    • Windows 7® Pro or Ultimate with Service Pack 1
    • Windows 8.1® Pro or Enterprise
    • Windows 10® Pro
    • Windows Server 2008®  SP2
    • Windows Server 2008® R2 SP1
    • Windows Server 2012® R2
    • Windows Server 2016®
  • Server must have a network share that is configured to give all HawkSoft CMS users Full Control (READ and WRITE) of the share

NOTE: Server operating systems cannot be configured using Simple File Sharing.

  • Server Hard Drive: Approximately 10GB per 1000 customers
  • A mapped network drive to the network share must be present on all workstations used to access HawkSoft CMS.

The following are NOT supported

  • Wireless networks are not supported due to the unstable nature of the connection type. CMS requires constant data flow to the network and unstable wireless connections will affect performance and reliability. Wireless N and Wireless AC networks may work as long as bandwidth requirements are met and there is not wireless interference.
  • The following operating systems are not supported on the file server:

    • Any operating system not expressly listed above, including: Windows Server 2003 or 2008
    • Network Attached Storage (NAS) devices

Speed

  • Standard High Speed Internet connection (such as DSL, Fiber, or Cable)
  • Recommended speed may vary by number of concurrent users

ACCOUNTING

  • HawkSoft can transfer Trust information to the following versions of QuickBooks®:
    • QuickBooks® Pro version 2003 or newer
    • QuickBooks® Online
    QuickBooks® must be purchased separately.

MICROSOFT OFFICE INTEGRATION

  • Microsoft Office 2010, 2013, and 2016 "Professional" or "Home & Business"
  • The following editions are NOT supported: "Microsoft Office Home", "Office Home Premium", "Office Home & Student", and Trial editions
    • 64-bit versions of Microsoft Office are not supported. The 64-bit version of Office is only recommended by Microsoft for use in very specific environments.
  • Microsoft Office must be purchased separately. Microsoft Office 365 subscriptions must use the installed version of Microsoft Office 2013 or 2016 Small Business Premium or Professional.

HawkSoft Anywhere (Online Service)

MICROSOFT WINDOWS REQUIREMENTS

  • Operating Systems:

    • Microsoft Windows 7®, Service Pack 1 (x86 and 64 editions)
    • Microsoft Windows 8.1® (x86 and x64 editions)
    • Microsoft Windows 10®* (x86 and x64 editions)
      • *Microsoft Edge is not a supported browser
  • Hard Disk space: Minimum 2 GB
  • System Memory: 2 GB (32-bit) / 4 GB (64-bit)
  • Processor: Minimum 1 Ghz Intel Pentium compatible

APPLE OS X / macOS REQUIREMENTS*

  • Operating Systems:

    • OS X 10.9 Mavericks
    • OS X 10.10 Yosemite
    • OS X 10.11 El Capitan
    • OS X 10.12 Sierra
    • OS X 10.13 High Sierra
    • OS X 10.14 Mojave
  • Hard Disk space: Minimum 60 MB
  • System Memory: 2 GB or more recommended
  • Processor: Minimum 1.2 Ghz Intel CPU

* Drag & Drop functionality is not currently supported on any version of OS X / macOS for moving files from your local computer to HawkSoft Anywhere. All other forms of file transfer between environments function normally.

APPLE iOS

  • iOS 6 or higher

ANDROID

  • Android OS 4.2 or higher
  • Display: Minimum resolution 800×480
  • Storage: Minimum 25 MB

BANDWIDTH REQUIREMENTS

LATENCY REQUIREMENTS

  • Maximum delay: 200 ms latency
  • Recommended: 50 ms or lower latency

ACCOUNTING

  • HawkSoft can transfer Trust information to the following versions of QuickBooks®:

    QuickBooks® must be purchased separately.
