These requirements indicate the environment(s) for which HawkSoft has been developed and tested. Meeting these requirements will ensure proper performance. If you choose to run HawkSoft in an environment that does not meet these requirements, we may be limited in the support we can provide.

HawkSoft 5 (Local)

WORKSTATION REQUIREMENTS

NETWORK REQUIREMENTS

Network
  • HawkSoft requires a configured peer to peer or domain based (recommended) network (required for local installations only)
  • Virtual Proxy Networks (VPNs) are NOT supported. VPNs add complexity and latency to networks and software function, which can interfere in the proper transfer of data between the HawkSoft program and your server. VPNs may also negatively impact the user experience.
  • Wireless N, AC, AX, or BE networks will work as long as bandwidth requirements are met and there is not wireless interference.
    • Older Wireless Network Types may not be able to support the required bandwidth to consistently run HawkSoft.
  • Per office minimum: 5 Mb/s Download and 2 Mb/s Upload, plus 1 Mb/s Download per user in office
    • Maximum delay: 200 ms latency
    • Recommended: 50 ms or lower latency

Server
  • One computer configured to act as the file server running one of the following operating systems:
    • Windows 10® Pro or Enterprise
    • Windows 11® Pro or Enterprise
    • Windows Server 2016®
    • Windows Server 2019® (See help article for additional configuration)
    • Windows Server 2022®
  • Server must have a network share that is accessible through a UNC path and is configured to give all HawkSoft users Full Control (READ and WRITE) of the share
  • Server Hard Drive: Approximately 10GB per 1000 customers
  • Server operating systems cannot be configured using Simple File Sharing.
  • Network Attached Storage (NAS) devices are NOT supported as a server

CONNECTING MULTIPLE LOCATIONS/OFFICES OR OUTSIDE USERS

Connections
  • HawkSoft Online™ (contact your sales representative for pricing)
  • Remote Desktop (RDP)
  • Remote Desktop Services (formerly "Terminal Services")
  • Reminder: Virtual Proxy Networks (VPNs) are not supported. See above for details.
Speed
  • Standard High Speed Internet connection (such as DSL, Fiber, or Cable)
    • Maximum delay: 200 ms latency
    • Recommended: 50 ms or lower latency
  • Recommended speed may vary by number of concurrent users

MICROSOFT OFFICE INTEGRATION

  • The following editions are NOT supported:
    • Microsoft Office 2013

  • Microsoft Office must be purchased separately.

  • Processor: Dual Core Processor

APPLE OS X / macOS REQUIREMENTS*

  • Operating Systems:
    • macOS 10.14 Mojave
    • macOS 10.15 Catalina
    • macOS 11 Big Sur
    • macOS 12 Monterey
  • Hard Disk space: Minimum 600 MB
  • System Memory: 8 GB or more recommended
  • Processor: Dual Core Processor
  • Phone system integration is not supported for HawkSoft Online running on a macOS computer.

APPLE iOS

  • iOS 11 or higher

ANDROID

  • Android OS 7.0 or higher
  • Display: Minimum resolution 800×480
  • Storage: Minimum 25 MB

BANDWIDTH REQUIREMENTS

  • Per office minimum: 5 Mb/s Download and 2 Mb/s Upload, plus 1 Mb/s Download per user in office
  • Check your speed with this tool

  • Minimum CPU: Dual Core Processor
  • Minimum Memory: 8 GB (16 GB recommended)
  • Workstation Operating Systems:
  • Google Chrome version 86 or Higher (required for HawkLink for Google Chrome)
  • Minimum Monitor Resolution: 1280x720
  • Internet Access required on all workstations
  • Required Components:
    • .NET Framework 4.8 (must be installed prior to HawkSoft 6 installation)
    • MFC 14.13 (installed by HawkSoft 6 installation)
