These requirements indicate the environment(s) for which HawkSoft has been developed and tested. Meeting these requirements will ensure proper performance. If you choose to run HawkSoft in an environment that does not meet these requirements, we may be limited in the support we can provide.

HawkSoft Local Install

WORKSTATION REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimum CPU: 1.6GHz
  • Minimum Memory: 256 MB above that needed by the Operating System (OS)
  • Workstation Operating Systems:

    • Windows Vista® SP2 Business or Ultimate
    • Windows 7® Pro or Ultimate with Service Pack 1
    • Windows 8® Pro or Enterprise
    • Windows 8.1® Pro or Enterprise
    • Windows 10® Pro
  • Internet Explorer® 9.0 or higher
  • .NET Framework 4.0 or 4.5
  • MFC 12.0
  • Minimum Monitor Resolution: 1024x768
  • Internet Access: Required on all workstations for updates, carrier downloads, web integration, email and support
  • CD or DVD Writer: Required on at least one workstation or the server for off premise storage and backups

The following are NOT supported

  • Any Home, Media Center, or Tablet PC edition
  • Windows RT
  • Internet Explorer 64-bit is NOT supported
  • Some 3rd party integrations may not be compatible with 64-bit Operating Systems. Please contact 3rd party vendors for compatibility concerns.

NETWORK REQUIREMENTS

  • HawkSoft CMS requires a configured peer to peer or domain based (recommended) network (required for local installations only)
  • One computer configured to act as the file server running one of the following operating systems:

    • Windows 7® Pro or Ultimate with Service Pack 1
    • Windows 8® Pro or Enterprise
    • Windows 8.1® Pro or Enterprise
    • Windows 10® Pro
    • Windows Server 2003®
    • Windows Server 2008®  SP2
    • Windows Server 2008® R2 SP1
    • Windows Small Business Server® 2011 (Small Business Server cannot be used as a Terminal Server)
    • Windows Server 2012®
    • Windows Server 2012® R2
  • Server must have a network share that is configured to give all HawkSoft CMS users Full Control of the share

NOTE: Server operating systems cannot be configured using Simple File Sharing.

  • Server Hard Drive: Approximately 3GB per 1000 customers
  • A mapped network drive to the network share must be present on all workstations used to access HawkSoft CMS.

The following are NOT supported

  • Wireless networks are not recommended or supported
  • The following operating systems are not supported on the file server:

    • Windows Vista
    • Any Home, Media Center, or Tablet PC edition

  • USB: Brother MFC Series
  • SCSI II or USB-2: CANON DR Series
  • Many scanners will work. Call to verify before purchasing

Interface

  • TWAIN Compliant Driver

ACCOUNTING

  • QuickBooks® Pro version 2003 or newer (HawkSoft CMS can transfer trust information to these versions of QuickBooks®); QuickBooks® must be purchased separately.

MICROSOFT OFFICE INTEGRATION

  • Microsoft Office 2007, 2010, 2013, and 2016 "Professional" or "Home & Business"
  • The following editions are NOT supported: "Microsoft Office Home", "Office Home Premium", "Office Home & Student", and Trial editions
  • Microsoft Office must be purchased separately. Microsoft Office 365 subscriptions must use the installed version of Microsoft Office 2010,  2013, or 2016 Small Business Premium or Professional.

    • Microsoft Windows 7®, Service Pack 1 (x86 and 64 editions)
    • Microsoft Windows 8® (x86 and x64 editions)
    • Microsoft Windows 8.1® (x86 and x64 editions)
    • Microsoft Windows 10®* (x86 and x64 editions)
      • *Microsoft Edge is not a supported browser
  • Hard Disk space: Minimum 20 MB
  • System Memory: Minimum 512 MB, 1 GB recommended
  • Processor: Minimum 1 Ghz Intel Pentium compatible

APPLE iOS

  • iOS 6 or higher

ANDROID

  • Android OS 4.2 or higher
  • Display: Minimum resolution 800×480
  • Storage: Minimum 25 MB

BANDWIDTH REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimum 121 kbps per connected network user for the HawkSoft Anywhere connection
  • Recommended 384 kbps per connected network user. Additional bandwidth as needed to meet other agency needs, i.e. VOIP, multimedia streaming, web page browsing, etc.

LATENCY REQUIREMENTS

  • Maximum delay: 200 ms latency
  • Recommended: 50 ms or lower latency
