Data Ownership Policy

Archway Computer's position on data ownership is that it does not store agency data. Instead, all clients have their data stored either locally or on cloud services such as Microsoft Azure/OneDrive/Sharepoint or Amazon Web Services, which are owned by the agency and not by Archway. Archway also does not sell software, hardware, internet or VOIP services. As a result, our company has modeled itself like an independent insurance agency rather than a captive, prioritizing clients' data ownership and control over their own data.

Archway Computer's stance on data ownership and control is in line with the National Association of Insurance Commissioners (NAIC) guidance on data privacy and security. The NAIC's Principles for Effective Cybersecurity: Insurance Regulatory Guidance emphasize the importance of data ownership and confidentiality, stating that "data should be owned by the insurance company or the individual policyholder, and the data should be subject to appropriate controls to ensure confidentiality, integrity, and availability."
