System Requirements
These requirements indicate the environment(s) for which HawkSoft has been developed and tested. Meeting these requirements will ensure proper performance. If you choose to run HawkSoft in an environment that does not meet these requirements, we may be limited in the support we can provide.

HawkSoft 5 (Local)
Can agencies continue using their previous local server installation instead of moving to HawkSoft 6?
Agencies using local server installations are not required to migrate to HawkSoft 6. However, we want to make you aware of future end of support deadlines for local server installations.
End of support deadlines:
- 1/31/26 - Data Sync features disabled (including API integrations and HawkSoft add-ons) & data migration to HawkSoft 6 no longer supported
- 5/31/26 - End of support for book additions in HawkSoft 5
- 6/31/26 - End of software updates & technical support for HawkSoft 5
See details regarding each of these deadlines here. Agencies may continue to use their local server installation after the final 6/31/26 deadline, but the system will not receive software updates, security patches, or technical support. HawkSoft cannot guarantee functionality of the full system after this point.
HawkSoft does not recommend that agencies continue to use local server installations after this date. We strongly encourage all agencies to migrate as soon as possible to make use of the new features and capabilities of HawkSoft 6. This platform is the future of HawkSoft and will be our sole focus moving forward.

NETWORK REQUIREMENTS
- HawkSoft requires a configured peer to peer or domain based (recommended) network (required for local installations only)
- Virtual Proxy Networks (VPNs) are NOT supported. VPNs add complexity and latency to networks and software function, which can interfere in the proper transfer of data between the HawkSoft program and your server. VPNs may also negatively impact the user experience.

Wireless N, AC, AX, or BE networks will work as long as bandwidth requirements are met and there is not wireless interference.
- Older Wireless Network Types may not be able to support the required bandwidth to consistently run HawkSoft.

One computer configured to act as the file server running one of the following operating systems:
- Windows 10® Pro or Enterprise
- Windows 11® Pro or Enterprise
- Windows Server 2016®

- Server must have a network share that is accessible through a UNC path and is configured to give all HawkSoft users Full Control (READ and WRITE) of the share
- Server Hard Drive: Approximately 10GB per 1000 customers
- Server operating systems cannot be configured using Simple File Sharing.
- Network Attached Storage (NAS) devices are NOT supported as a server

- QuickBooks® Pro 2022, 2023, and 2024 (Intuit will stop selling most versions of QuickBooks® Desktop after September 30, 2024)
