Here at HawkSoft we are deeply committed to the success of independent insurance agencies. From the time I first became an insurance agent, I have developed cutting-edge technology solutions for agencies. We have a solid understanding of the changing insurance industry, and we thrive on innovation. My real passion, though, is interacting with clients. I love talking to agents at industry conferences, trade shows, and user group meetings. I want to find their pain points and find out what gets them excited. I personally read the feedback and suggestions submitted through our forums and email and set priorities based on what is best for our clients. We feel that if we take care of our clients’ needs the bottom line will take care of itself.
I was told by one of our clients that the difference between us and our competition is that HawkSoft has heart. Our passion for the customer experience draws people in. One of the best pieces of business advice I ever received was to surround myself with good people, and I feel I have done that. HawkSoft now has over seventy employees, and I’m proud of every one of them. They work hard, embrace our core values, and put our clients first. I am excited for the future.
Paul Hawkins began developing HawkSoft’s first software program while working as an independent insurance agent in Portland, Oregon, and seeing first-hand the opportunities for increased efficiency and improved customer service that software automation could provide. Throughout his 6-year career as an insurance agent, Paul developed many software tools that he and his coworkers used to boost their agency’s success. In 1995, Paul founded HawkSoft to devote his full attention to helping all independent insurance agents. Paul serves as President and CEO of HawkSoft and is a member of the board of directors. He is a frequent speaker at insurance industry events and has received the Legend Award from The Brokers Insurance Group. Paul enjoys woodworking, spending time with his family, and working on his farm.
I was excited to join HawkSoft in 2002 because as a user of the CMS product, I saw firsthand the way the company focused on making every customer interaction a great experience. HawkSoft is still committed to delivering a superior customer experience; the kind you just don’t find anymore. We are different, not just in our industry, but in just about every industry I interact with. At HawkSoft, delivering a great customer experience is paramount. That still gets me excited today.
As COO, I am in charge of the daily operations of the company. I meet regularly with each team to discuss measurable progress relating to our vision, mission, strategy, and tactics. Part of delivering a superior experience for our clients is making sure everyone at HawkSoft is united behind our common vision and is empowered to accomplish their goals. Our core values are a big part of that. We recognize that a great customer experience is about far more than a good one-on-one interaction. It is about the foundation we’ve built, the culture we’ve created and continue to build. With a growing number of employees and hundreds of interactions with customers each day, our challenge is to learn and find ways to scale our vision and culture so we deliver an exceptional experience every time.

The entrepreneurial spirit at HawkSoft meshes well with the qualities embraced by insurance agents. One of those qualities is integrity, which is instilled throughout HawkSoft.
In the sales department, for example, we make sure we are completely honest in our communications. We don’t just tell prospective clients anything they want to hear. We educate as we nurture and build relationships. Then, after we close a sale, we don’t just walk away. We coordinate with the new clients and the training department to be sure everyone is on the same page and moving forward.
I work with prospective clients and with our territory managers across the country. The closest territory manager is 1000 miles away. In addition to leading the sales team, I am their liaison and advocate with home office. I keep them informed and help them see the big picture. I am also an advocate for all of our clients. Every decision that gets made at HawkSoft has our clients’ best interests at heart.

I love reporting back to clients that their suggestions have been incorporated into the software and showing them the new features they dreamed up. It’s thrilling for them to know they are heard.
My favorite thing about HawkSoft is the support my clients and I get in the field. The whole culture of HawkSoft is positive and encouraging. Clients love that HawkSoft inspires them to implement solutions that will help them be more efficient and successful in their businesses. I see this every time I perform a demo for a prospective client. I never tire of hearing, “You can really do that? That’s so quick and easy! That will really help our agency.” I value the relationships I have with HawkSoft clients and love attending user group meetings and visiting agents in their offices.

At Hawksoft we put the customer first. Our focus is not just on helping our clients with a specific issue but on consulting with them to truly understand their underlying needs and address those needs for the future. Our goal is to provide exceptional service, the best in the industry.
As the Customer Service Manager I lead the Customer Service Department. I focus on strategic planning, setting priorities and ensuring our energies and resources are centered on achieving our customer satisfaction goals. I have three team leaders under me, all veteran Hawksoft CSRs themselves, who are passionate about delivering an excellent customer experience. To that end they work with the CSRs daily, coaching, advising and supporting them to be their best. We developed our performance goals with the customers satisfaction as our chief focus. Whether you are calling or emailing, we respond quickly, listen intently, and resolve the issue swiftly. Our CSRs are hired based on their ability to relate to the customer, their desire to help, their technical skill, and their cultural fit. Consequently when we lose a CSR its typically to another position inside Hawksoft.

Industry-defining customer experience is the one ring of fire that we refuse to step outside of.
As Director of Marketing, it’s my role to communicate our values, inspirational story, and what makes our organization and products so unique. Our customers and employees put their trust in our company, and it’s our responsibility to curate this trust and position them for success.

As Conversion Manager, I run the conversion department as well as perform actual conversions. Our goal is to make clients happy.

I have a passion for and belief in continuous learning and growth. I strongly believe the pursuit of learning for professional and personal development is what makes individuals and companies the best they can be. I also enjoy helping companies grow and develop strong cultures, and of course learning is part of both. Finally, I take great joy in helping individuals do their best, and love the aha moment when someone figures out a complex problem or how to help themselves grow professionally. Like most of the leadership team I believe HawkSoft’s relationships, values and thoughtfulness are what makes it a truly unique and compelling company. Personally, I appreciate that I get to contribute on a regular basis to the direction of the company and the success of our customers.
As the Manager of Instructional Design I help lead our customer education strategy. I get to continuously be curious and view our software and practices through our customers’ eyes. I want HawkSoft to offer the best and most valuable educational experience of any vendor in the insurance industry for our customers. I work with the leadership team, customers and employees to determine what type of training our customers need, what educational opportunities offer the most value, how we can help our customers be more successful, what educational delivery methods best support our customers, and more. Mostly my job is figuring out how to equip our customers with the skills, knowledge and resources that will make them successful in using our software to manage their agencies.
Mindy has 18 years of experience in developing and delivering training, including four years in management. She has her Masters in Instructional Design and Technology from Arizona State University. HawkSoft’s distinguishing characteristic is that it puts customer experience first. We’ve based our entire culture and core values on that focus. We hire according to our values, so we have a group of really terrific, dedicated people who genuinely believe in making this company special.
A big part of my job is introducing our new employees to that culture so they understand how they contribute to our customers’ satisfaction, regardless of their new role. All new employees receive in-class product training blended with team mentorship, both tailored according to departmental needs. This process gives employees an understanding of not only how our software works but how our customers might use it, which in turn gives context to their own roles – be they in Customer Service or HR.
I also handle ongoing instruction for HawkSoft, ranging from advanced CMS topics to consultative support techniques to anything else our employees may need to be successful Hawks. The challenge of developing a variety of instruction that will help all employees thrive and grow is one that I am honored and excited to have.
